The Standard Setup is intended to help your instrument reach its maximum potential in regards to playability. Every point on the instrument that the string touches will be inspected, measured, and adjusted to taste. Neck straightness will be measured and adjusted via the truss rod. The saddles will be height-adjusted and measured for correct radius, action, and intonation. Nut slots will be cleaned, measured, and adjusted for optimal slope and depth(action), then lubricated. Note that what constitutes a good setup will vary from player to player. There are a few inter-dependent variables that we must dial in to strike a balance. If you are unsure of your preferences, the manufacturer’s recommendations for proper action are generally a good starting point.
