The reasons for a new nut are many. You might want to change material for tonal purposes. Or perhaps your tremelo system requires minimal friction and you want a nut that is self-lubricating. Whatever the reason, we can craft a custom fitted nut from your choice of bone or TUSQ. It starts as a blank piece of material that will be shaped by hand to fit your instrument. From there, string slots are carefully arranged and cut. The depths of the string slots will be carefully controlled via frequent measurement with a digital gauge which allows for tolerances measured in hundredths of a millimeter! Finally, the nut will be polished and its slots lubricated for friction-free playing.
