Stated prices represent a starting point for labour/tooling costs. Strings and parts are billed separately.

Includes: String Change, Intonation, and Lubrication.

A basic but critical service, especially if you want to try a different string gauge or tuning. Saddles will be adjusted for proper intonation and nut slots will be lubricated. Note that radical changes in tuning or string gauge often require adjustment to other components like the truss rod, nut slots, and tremelo tension. In such cases, a Standard Setup may be a better option.

String Change $40

Includes: String Installation, Truss Rod Adjustment, Nut Slot Adjustment, Bridge/Saddle Adjustment, Intonation and Lubrication.

Every point on the instrument that the string touches will be inspected, measured, and adjusted to taste. Neck straightness will be measured and adjusted via the truss rod. Saddles will be adjusted for correct action and intonation. Nut slots will be cleaned, measured, and adjusted for optimal slope and depth, then lubricated. Adjustment screws will be lubricated. Pickup height will be adjusted and balanced.

Standard Setup $120

Includes: Everything Provided in the Standard Setup, plus additional Fret Polishing, Fretboard Cleaning and Conditioning, Body and Hardware Cleaning and Polishing.

The Premium Setup goes a bit further than a Standard Setup. Your fretboard will be cleaned and depending on the material, polished or conditioned. The frets will also be cleaned and polished. They will look nicer, but importantly, a polished fret feels much smoother to play on. Additionally, all other exterior hardware will be cleaned and polished.

Premium Setup $220

Includes: Fretboard Cleaned, Polished/Conditioned. Frets Leveled, Crowned, and Polished.

This service is a great way to rejuvenate your fretboard and frets. Addresses minor asymmetry that can develop over time from fret wear, or even minor neck twist. Ensures optimal intonation and playability across the entire fretboard.

Includes a Standard Setup

Fret Level, Crown, and Polish $320

Includes: old frets removed. Fretboard Inspected and Trued. New Frets Installed*, Leveled, Crowned, and Polished. Fretboard Conditioned.

A good option for guitars with frets too worn for a level, crown, and polish, or if looking to change fret size/material. Choose your type and size of fretwire*. After removing your old frets, the fretboard and fret slots will be inspected and prepped for the installation of new frets. Given the nature of wood, fretboards can become slightly twisted or uneven over time. These issues can be addressed at this stage if desired. The fretboard can be leveled and planed to a perfect radius. Though this is not always necessary or desired. Some like to retain the original patina and wear as much as possible. The next step is radiusing and installing your new frets. Once in place, they will be leveled, crowned, and polished. Finally the fretboard will be conditioned.

Includes a Standard Setup and a Custom Nut.

*due to material cost and tooling wear, stainless steel frets incur an $80 upcharge

*bound fretboards require additional fret preparation and incur a $40 upcharge.

Additional Info: Unfortunately, refrets on finish-sensitive maple fretboards must be declined as this shop is unable to do finish work at this time.

Standalone Services Parts + $40/hr

All work that doesn’t fall into a package. Parts Replacement/Installation, Loose Hardware, Lifted Fret, etc…

Many minor issues that need attention on a guitar won’t fall neatly into the broader service packages. Fret buzz on a single fret? Loose tone knob? Loose strap button? Nut slot too low? Get in touch and I’ll get you sorted as quickly as possible.

Pickup Swap: from $80

Electronic Services Parts + $40hr

Includes: Hand Crafted Nut, Custom Fitted, Polished, and Lubricated

Old nut will be carefully removed and in its place a new nut will be custom fitted to your instrument. Slots will be carefully spaced and their depth cut for optimal clearance over the first fret. And finally the slots will be lubricated.

I recommend pairing a Custom Nut with a Standard or Premium setup for maximum benefit.

A new saddle will be fitted and height adjusted for optimal action across the fretboard.
